I was also blessed to be raised by a single mother who loved God and taught her children to grow up in the “fear and admonition of the Lord.” I, too, am a lover of God, teaching, and children.

I am a member of Way of Life Church International where I serve as an Elder on the Ministerial Staff, Sunday School Superintendent, Co-Leader of the Marriage Ministry and Overseer of the Youth Ministry. My goal is to allow God to use me, for His Glory, in every area of ministry He has called me to. In the very near future, I look forward to taking my love for teaching and children to another level. It is my heart’s desire to open a Daycare Center in honor of my late mother. I want her legacy to live on in the work that God will have me to do.

My journey with CLWC, officially, began almost four years ago. That is when I heard the Lord call me to become Board Member. However, my relationship with CLWC goes back sixteen (16) years. Since I became a member of Way of Life Church, I have had the privilege of attending several Campmeetings and Prayer Brunches held annually, without fail, by CLWC. I am reminded of the impact that Campmeeting has had not only on my life, but the life of my family. My children have ministered at several of their Prayer Brunches. My mother was so impressed by the Ministry that she became a Partner. And in 2013, my oldest daughter, Rachel, joined the Missionaries on their journey to Nyahururu, Kenya East Africa. She became the first youth to journey to the mission field. What a phenomenal blessing!

This journey has taken me from being a single woman to marrying the man of my dreams. It has allowed me to watch my teenage daughter become a Missionary and take on her very first airplane ride, across the world. It has further allowed me to maintain my mother’s Partnership with the ministry in her honor. It has caused me to grow, as a person, under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Carolyn L. Vessel and the wonderful men and women that I have the pleasure of co-labouring with. CLWC has taught me about excellence, expanding my horizons—that is, stretching beyond what I can see—and commitment.

I believe I was called to this journey; therefore, I chose to answer the call. I was also drawn to CLCW because I was thoroughly impressed with seeing the Word of God come alive. The scripture says in Romans 12:5 (NLT): “so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.” There are different members of God’s Body (different churches) coming together to get the work of the Lord done. A motto of the Ministry is: Then He said to His Disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” (Matthew 9:37). There is a lot of work that needs to be done, but not a lot of people doing it. Therefore, I decided to be one of those to help get the work done.

In closing, the most important thing I would like you to know is that I would not be the woman I am today had it not been for my mother, Gloria Jean Johnson. I am truly thankful for God blessing me with a God-fearing, Bible-studying woman who was not afraid to tell me what “thus saith the Lord.” In doing so, she left a Legacy to work harder and to be the best mother and wife that I can be. Ultimately, I am inspired to teach children what I know about the Lord and to build something that will leave a legacy to remind others about the Lord.

Elder Phoebe English is a sister of many siblings, including a fraternal twin brother. I am the mother of five (5) children as well as an aunt, friend, and wife. […]

[1

post-3421","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized
