My time with Co-Labourers With Christ (CLWC) has been an incredible journey filled with growth, learning, and unforgettable experiences, of which the most notable is monthly Bible Study every first Saturday. Bible Study is still amazing. As a result of my younger sister, Elder Juanita Shelby, being totally dedicated to the ministry, I became a Co-Labourer as well. Initially, I was entrusted with the role of Board Secretary. With this position came significant responsibilities and the need for development. Under the guidance of the late Elder Tanya Wade, who was not only an exceptional teacher but also a remarkable person, I received invaluable training. Her teachings have transcended time by allowing me to, not only expand the knowledge she imparted but to share it with others. Such dedication and excellence propels her legacy into perpetuity.

One of the many highlights of my tenure with CLWC has been intense participation in our Annual Campmeetings. I served as Steward for this event as well as our Annual Prayer Brunch. Serving in the capacity of Steward, in these two roles, was an exceptional honor. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to God’s work to such a degree. The Campmeeting was a time of spiritual renewal and community bonding, while the role of Brunch Steward allowed me to serve and connect with fellow members in a meaningful way. These experiences have not only enriched my time with CLWC but have also reinforced the values of service and fellowship that are central to the ministry.

Being a member of CLWC has inspired me to strive for excellence in all areas of my life. The organization’s commitment to spiritual growth, community service, and personal development has had a profound impact on my life. It has encouraged me to be more diligent and dedicated in my efforts, both within CLWC and my personal life as well. This drive for excellence has translated into increased involvement at my home church where I have become a more active and engaged member.

In 2018, I was Blessed to be a part of a Missionary Journey to Nyahururu, Kenya East Africa. I am eternally grateful for the assistance of my Pastor, Karlton B. Ray, my church family, Abundant Favor Worship Center and other special people (including my work family) for helping to make this experience possible. On this journey, I was able to meet the people that we served. It was a life-changing experience! I thank God for opening doors that allowed me to go. What made the experience even better was that I attended with my two biological sisters as well. Because of this journey, I was able to see the “WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, AND WHY” of this Ministry and its influence. I have also been given the opportunity to manage our website which, again, has been a wonderful opportunity. Most recently, I have become an Adoptive Parent to two children (Mercy, a beautiful teen mom and her beautiful baby boy, Carl). This was an opportunity to serve in an unusual capacity. I had to do it (It had to be me)!!

Overall, my journey with CLWC has been transformative. It has taught me the essence, responsibility and accountability of operating in leadership and in the capacity of a dedicated follower. It has allowed me to balance the two effectively. The skills and knowledge I have gained under the leadership of Apostle Carolyn L. Vessel leave nothing to the imagination. In addition, the love, support and camaraderie of my fellow Co-Labourers have made me a better, more well-rounded person. I am grateful for the experiences and opportunities that CLWC has provided, and I look forward to continuing to grow and contribute to this wonderful organization in whatever manner God deems appropriate.
